Terms & Conditions

 

General Rental Information

The renter and the driver have to be in possession of a valid driving licence.

Driving license printed with non Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic etc) must be complemented by an International driving licence.

Please show a valid ID card or passport at time of pick up!

 

Special rental information by booking of Prepaid rates

Changing booking A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of EUR 20.00. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser rental cost.

Cancellation

A booking can be cancelled before the rental begins. In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. No-show In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.

 

Age Restrictions

The driver has to be in possession of a valid driving licence for at least 1 year.

Minimum age for Mauritius is 21 and the driver has to be in possession of a valid driving licence for at least 1 year.

 

Conditions of Payment

Flexi Tariff

We accept all credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa.

We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron).

Sixt CarExpress Servicecard is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.

Prepaid Tariff

The following credit cards are accepted: all credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Mastercard and Visa. We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron). The renter must be the owner of the indicated creditcard. The authorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection ofthe vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card. By booking of a prepaid rate, the credit card will be charged before the startof rental, directly with the estimated total amount of rental. The amount that will be charged on your credit card comprises the price of rental as well as all additional extra fees. The rental charge(plus any other charges agreed such as, e.g. exemptions from liability, delivery charges, airport charges etc.) plus value added tax in the statutory amount applicable from time to time must, as a matter of principle, be paid in full for the agreed rental period, i.e. if the vehicle is collected late or returned early there shall be no refund.

 

Generally

An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.

 

General Protection Conditions

Third Party Insurance (TI)

Protection coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with unlimited cover for personal injuries and material damages.

Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's licence at the time of the event giving rise to claim.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Collision Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage.

All rates are inclusive of CDW. Customer is only responsible for the following amounts: EUR 425,- (ECMR, CDMR, ECAR) EUR 600,- (IDMR, IDAR, SVMR, IFMR, CLMR, CFMN)

Theft Protection (TP)

Theft Protection removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.

All rates are inclusive of TP. Customer is only responsible for the following amounts: EUR 100.-

Personal Accident Protection (PAI)

By taking out personal accident protection can also be extended to cover the consequences of an accident.

By taking out PAI the limit of liability is: EUR 16,665.- for invalidity, EUR 16,665.- for decease, EUR 1,665.- for medical costs.

 

Delivery & Collection

For Delivery/Collection Service a charge of EUR 4.03 applies.

 

Out Of Hours

An Out Of Hours surcharge of EUR 11.50 occurs for bookings out of opening hours.

 

One-Way Rentals

National

All One-Way Rentals are on request. Please contact the local rental station.

For One-Way-Rentals within Sixt locations on Mauritius a charge of EUR 3.50 applies.

International

International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.

 

Cross Border Rentals & Territorial Restrictions

Cross Border Rentals are not allowed.

 

Premium Location Fee

A Premium Location Surcharge of EUR 11.50 per month or part thereof is charged at locations of special interest. Those are airports and some city locations (Port Louis Waterfront, Quatre Bornes, Indian Resort, Maritim Hotel, Hilton Resort, Ambre Hotel, Marina Paladien, L'Alidou).

 

Extras

 

Accessories are bookable without obligation and subject to availability.

Additional Driver

An Additional Driver Surcharge of EUR 11.50 per day applies.

Refuelling Charge

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise our current refuelling charges in addition to a tanking fee of 15% will apply.

All rates are inclusive of VAT (if VAT incurs).

 

For corporate customers with individual agreements alternative prices and regulations can apply.
